Purchasing your Unakaffe System machine for the first time

Congratulations on purchasing your very first Unakaffe System coffee capsule machine! Before starting your unforgettable coffee journey, please make sure to do the following steps first:

1. Please ensure that your machine and its attributes are in complete condition, including: power cord, drip tray, machine guidebook, and warranty card. Once you are done, check if the unit functions as it should be.

2. Make sure to keep the physical warranty card as it will be required when you wish to claim free repair services.

Using your Unakaffe System machine for the first time

Please make sure to do the following steps before using your machine for the first time:

1. Rinse the water tank of your machine with warm water.

2. (Optional) Clean the inside of the water tank with non abrasive sponge and dish soap.

3. Gently wipe your machine with a damp cloth.

4. Flush the water system of your machine 2 to 3 times by pressing espresso button without inserting any capsule. Ensure the water tank is filled to maximum level first to avoid damaging your machine.

Regarding the warranty of your Unakaffe System products

All Unakaffe System machines are covered by a 2-year warranty, while accessories such as Milk Frother has a warranty period of 1 year from the purchase date. If your experience any kind of issues regarding Unakaffe System products during this validity period, we are able to provide reparation, spare parts, and pickup services (selected area only) for no additional charges under the following terms and conditions:

1. You have filled details regarding the warranty of your product both in provided online link: https://bit.ly/kartugaransiunakaffesystem and printed card that comes with every Machine or Accessories on the day of your purchase. These include information such as product serial number and relevant personal data.

2. Your machine has not been damaged by the use of non-Unakaffe System capsules and other nonstandard components. Other conditions resulting from self inflicted conditions such as your unit falling over a high surface or intentionally scratched by sharp object also apply.

What does it mean by 15 bar/19 bar?

15 bar or 19 bar denotes the water pressure utilized during the extraction process of your coffee. The higher the bar pressure is, the smoother your crema will be.

What is crema?

Crema is the creamy, caramel colored froth on the top of your espresso. Considered to be a sign of good coffee, this part is full of flavour, texture, and aromas. This beautiful foam layer appears when hot water is forced through coffee grounds at high pressure, emulsifying the coffee bean oils and forming tiny, smooth bubbles.

When you brew coffee using machine with high pressure, the CO2 that was trapped inside the coffee is now extracted and pops into little bubbles that rise into the surface of your espresso, which then forms a layer called crema.

What is the standard brewing volume for the espresso and lungo settings of Unakaffe System machine?

Standard brewing volume on the Unakaffe System coffee capsule machine:

Espresso: 45 ml
Lungo: 150 ml

How many cups of coffee can be made with Unakaffe System machine with full water tank capacity?

The amount of coffee that can be made using Unakaffe System machine in one sitting depends on its water tank volume. Ventura Acala has the capacity of 650 ml which makes it possible to brew 14 cups of Espresso or 4 cups of Lungo in one sitting. Meanwhile, Ventura Avana with its 500 ml capacity is able to brew 11 cups of Espresso or 3 cups of Lungo without having to refill the water tank first.

Can I brew milk based coffee like cappuccino or latte on my machine by filling its water tank with milk instead of water?

We do not recommend filling the water tank of your machine with milk or other kind of liquids as it may cause damage not covered by warranty.

Will my Unakaffe System coffee capsule machine enters energy saving mode if not used for a long period of time?

For Ventura Acala, if your machine is inactive for more than 5 minutes, it will automatically enter energy saving mode indicated by the cup setting button turning green in color. While for Ventura Avana, your machine will enter off mode after being inactive for more than 9 minutes. This will be indicated by LEDs on the cup setting button turned off.

To activate your machine again, simply click either espresso or lungo button. Your machine is ready to be used again when the cup setting buttons turn back to blue.

How do I change the water volume settings of my Unakaffe System machine?

You can change the water volume setting of your coffee capsule machine through 2 ways:

1. First method: ensure the water tank is filled first until maximum indicator, press and hold both the espresso and lungo buttons at the same time for 3 seconds. The water volume of your machine will be back to its default factory settings.

2. Second method: ensure the water tank is filled until maximum indicator, open the lever of your machine, and insert a capsule. Close the lever then press and hold either espresso or lungo button (pick the one you desire to change its volume setting) for 3 seconds. Let the coffee extract normally, then press the select button again when the volume reach your desired setting. This method will set your chosen water volume setting as the default unless you wish to revert back to factory setting again.

How do I reset the water volume settings to the factory default on the espresso or lungo buttons?

Press both brewing buttons (espresso and lungo) simultaneously for about 3 – 5 seconds or until the indicator light on the buttons stops blinking/stays on. The water volume setting on both brewing buttons have been reset to the factory default.

What kind of milk should I use for my milk frother?

To produce thick and smooth milk foam, it is recommended to use fresh pasteurized milk (usually branded as fresh milk on the Indonesian market). We do not recommend using other type of milk such as sterilized, UHT, or plant based milk as the foam will not form optimally and appear thinner.

Can I add chocolate powder into my Milk Frother to make chocolate or mocha drink recipes?

Unakaffe System Milk Frother can be used to create a variety of chocolate, red velvet, or matcha drinks recipes simply by adding each respective powder to a milk frother that is already filled with pasteurized milk. It is advisable to use type of flavoured powder that can dissolve easily in milk. After your powder is added, attach the filter and coil of the frother, then just press the chocolate bar icon button to start frothing.

Learn how to keep your Unakaffe System products in top shape with effective maintenance and cleaning tips, ensuring every cup of coffee remains perfect at any time.

Daily maintenance tips for your Unakaffe System machine

Our Unakaffe System machines offer unparallaled cups of coffee, at any moment. To help maintain the quality of your coffee, we suggest several maintenance advice as following:

Before using your machine for the day, make sure to flush the insides by running water through it. It is recommended to repeat this process daily to avoid the clogging of water flow system from residual coffee grounds. Please follow the steps below:

1. Ensure the water tank of your machine is filled with drinkable water, at least above the MINIMAL sign.

2. Click either espresso or lungo setting button without inserting any capsule into the machine.

3. Wait until water stops flowing and repeat the process above once or twice more if still feel needed.

4. Clean the drip tray of your machine often with dish soap and sponge. Dispose any used capsule after usage to avoid mold.

It is advisable to regularly change and refill the water tank of your machine on a daily basis, as the quality of water is essential for great coffee.

Flushing my Unakaffe System machine

Before using your Unakaffe System machine in the morning, we would suggest to flush the internal water system first by clicking either espresso or lungo button without inserting any capsule. This should be done regularly in order to avoid buildup of coffee residue.

Your unit should also be wiped often with wet cloth (without soap) to clean any stain or dust.

How do I clean my Unakaffe System machine with a descaling solution?

Descaling the coffee machine is important to remove mineral buildup inside the machine. It is advisable to perform this regularly every 200 cups brewed and by using a descaling solution specifically recommended for capsule coffee machines to achieve optimal results. Follow these steps below:

1. Fill the water tank of your machine with distilled water and add the descaling solution.

2. Prepare a large container and place it under the spout of your coffee capsule machine to collect water from the water tank.

3. Empty the entire water tank by pressing and holding one of the brewing buttons until the water flows out, then release. The water will continue to flow until your water tank is empty.

4. Let the machine sit for 30 – 60 minutes.

5. Clean the water tank thoroughly with dish soap and soft sponge, then refill it with distilled water up to the MAXIMUM line.

6. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to rinse out any remaining descaling solution inside your coffee capsule machine.

7. The descaling process is complete, and your machine is ready to brew your favourite coffee capsule again!

How often should I change and refill the water tank of my Unakaffe System coffee capsule machine?

In general, there will be no problem letting water sit inside the tank of your coffee capsule machine for several days as long as the lid is tightly shut in normal room temperature. Although, we suggest changing and refilling the tank with fresh drinkable water either daily or every 2-3 days, as the quality of water will have an impact to your coffee.

How do I store my Unakaffe System machine if not used for a long period?

If your machine is not used for more than 2 weeks, we suggest to do the following:

– Store it back to the original box that came with your purchase

– Keep the box in dry place with temperature above 5 degrees Celcius

– Keep the box out of dust and away from children or infants.

How to clean Unakaffe System Milk Frother?

Wash the milk container cup thoroughly with dish soap and soft sponge, then rinse with water until clean. It should be noted that the heating mechanism of your milk frother should not come into contact with water and cleaned with dry cloth only if needed.
